DERMAL FILLERS

  • WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal Fillers are a non-surgical treatment that will add volume or plump up areas where wrinkles and folds have appeared due to ageing. Dermal fillers will help to smooth lines, enhance lips and restore cheeks to give you a more youthful and fresh faced look.

  • AM I SUITABLE FOR DERMAL FILLERS?

Do not use Dermal fillers if you are pregnant, breast feeding or bruise easily. If you’re unsure of your suitability our doctor will advice you further at the consultation.

  • ARE DERMAL FILLERS SAFE?

At Regenix cosmetic Clinic we use the world’s most tried and tested HA dermal fillers available on the market. Its safety and effects are clinically proven and supported by extensive clinical data. Our dermal fillers have been used for over 15 years and in more than 15 million treatments world wide. Your doctor will give you more information during your consultation.

  • HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

One of the great advantages of Dermal Fillers is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. A treatment of the lips lasts from 3 to 6 months. Your doctor will give you more information during your consultation.

  • WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER TREATMENT?

Your doctor will advise you fully of post-treatment advice at your consultation. After the treatment some common injection-related reactions might occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously within 2 to 10 days. The use of anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin will almost always cause bleeding or increased bruising at the injection site. No exercise except for walking for 24 hours after the procedure.

LIP FILLERS

  • HOW DO LIP FILLERS WORK?

Lip fillers also known as dermal fillers are a non-surgical treatment that injects the lips with a substance that is found naturally in your body, in order to achieve volume and plumpness in your lips. This substance also stimulates the growth of collagen giving you a more youthful appearance. At Regenix cosmetic Clinic we use the worlds most tried and tested dermal filler, Juvederm. This product has been rigorously tested through clinical trials over the past 15 years and its records for safety and efficiency are outstanding. Juvederm has been used in 15 million treatments worldwide.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT LAST, DOES IT HURT?

A huge advantage of lip fillers is that the results are long lasting but not permanent. Your lips can be altered over time in order to maintain the desired appearance. On average each treatment lasts 6 months. At Regenix cosmetic Clinic patient care is always to the forefront of all of our procedures and we will ensure that your treatment is as comfortable as possible. All of our lip fillers contain a local anaesthetic however; during the procedure itself clients may experience some mild discomfort. This is only temporary, and your doctor will advise you on how to minimalize this discomfort

MICRONEEDLING

  • WHAT SKIN CONDITIONS CAN MICRONEEDLING TREAT?

Medical Microneedling also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy, works for a variety of skin conditions, including:

Treatment of scars (including burn scars, acne scars and surgical scars)
    – Stretch marks (including post pregnancy)
    – Wrinkles and fine lines
    – Pigmentation marks

Microneedling produces trauma in the dermis which stimulates the body’s natural defences to repair the skin. This leads to the production of concentrated amounts of collagen and proteins to the treated areas of the skin. This results in the skins thickness being increased by up to 80%, smoothing scars, visibly reducing stretch marks and erasing wrinkles.

  • IS THERE ANY DOWN TIME AND DOES IT HURT?

There is very little down time, although expect your skin to look and feel mildly sunburnt for about 24 hours after the treatment. It will also start to flake after a day or two as the skin cells slough off. This is a normal reaction and after about a week you’ll see the new, brighter, smooth skin appear. A topical cream is used to lessen sensitivity on the face, so there is no pain during the treatment.

  • ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

It varies by patient, but immediate side effects include redness, flaking, and mild irritation on the treated areas. These aren’t anything to worry about and will subside within 24-72 hours. It may be difficult to apply makeup over treated skin whilst it is flaking; similar to skin peeling after sunburn. Do not exfoliate as this will irritate the skin.

ALUMIER MD PEELS

  • Skin Peel expectations

Treatment expectations Beautiful skin doesn’t happen overnight, and treatments take time to show

results. A single chemical peel can provide the immediate effect of bright and radiant skin; however, more significant results in treating textural issues, fine lines and inflamed acne will take time.

  • Will the treatment hurt?

During your skin peel you may feel tingling and a heated sensation, although some clients don’t feel anything at all. Immediately after the treatment you may experience slight pinkness of the skin but this usually settles down within a couple of hours, and again, some clients have no pinkness. But the treatment and recovery should not be painful in anyway.

  • I don't know which treatment to book in for.

Don’t worry. A full skincare consultation and assessment will be carried out on each visit. We will then have a discussion together and decide on a treatment option for you. With the multilayering process with AlumierMD, we can mix and match different solutions on your skin, to target your skin concerns and maximise results.

  • Will AlumierMD chemical peels cause unsightly redness and peeling?

No. Clients sometimes expect to peel throughout the entire treated area. But post-treatment peeling is often similar to peeling after a tan. In some cases, exfoliation occurs on a cellular level and is not apparent to the naked eye. The exfoliation a client will experience varies depending on the peel strength and individual skin profile. AlumierMD chemical peels are light- to medium-depth, and are formulated to reduce irritation and redness.

  • What can I expect right after a chemical peel?

The skin is initially tender and more sun-sensitive as the epidermis renews itself. After the peeling takes its course (usually 3-5 days after the treatment), fresh new skin emerges and ingredients in home care products start to work more effectively. You will be given instructions pre- and post-treatment care as well as an after-care pack to continue use at home. It is very important that you follow these directions to ensure optimal results.

  • How can chemical peels benefit the skin?

Chemical peels improve skin texture and firmness, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Peels also even out skin tone, improve acne-prone skin and reduce pore size appearance.

  • Can I combine professional treatments and home care products?

AlumierMD professional treatments and home care products were specifically designed to complement one another and boost results. Your skin care professional will recommend the optimal combination for you.

DERMAPLANING

  • WHAT IS DERMAPLANING AND IS IT SAFE?

Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). It is extremely safe when performed by a professionally trained technician. The technique is performed by using a specialised sterile surgical instrument. Once the skin is properly prepped, the technician holds the skin taught and gently scrapes the blade at a 45-degree angle.

  • ONCE THE VELLUS HAIR IS REMOVED WILL IT GROW BACK QUICKER AND THICKER?

No, this is physiologically impossible. The soft, fine vellus hair will grow back slowly – usually in about 4 weeks and no different than it was previously.

  • CAN DERMAPLANING CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SKIN?

Excessive scraping, nicks and cuts can cause damage to the skin. This is why it is imperative you have a professional technician who has had the highest level of training, and who has the correct tools to do this treatment.

  • WHAT AREA CAN BE TREATED?

Dermaplaning is only to be performed on the face (excluding eyelids and lips). The treatment cannot be offered on any other part of the body.

  • HOW OFTEN CAN THIS PROCEDURE BE DONE?

Dermaplaning can be carried out every 3-4 weeks. Treating the skin in this manner removes about 2 – 3 weeks’ worth of dead skin cells. You should always leave enough time between treatments to allow the skin to complete its normal skin cycle of approximately 30 days before repeating.

PRP vampire facial

  • What is a Vampire Facial?

The term “vampire facial” conjures many images, most of which are not true to the actual treatment process. In reality, vampire facials are very straightforward. The treatment combines microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). We apply PRP to the facial skin and use a micro-needling device to inject the PRP below the skin’s surface. Through this procedure, vampire facials help tissue regenerate and assist in the production of collagen.

  • What is the PRP in the Vampire Facial?

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, has been used to promote healing in injured joints for years. However, it’s only recently we’ve begun using it for skin health as well. PRP comes from your own blood. The platelets in your blood are rich in growth factors that can stimulate cell turnover in the skin. PRP treatment triggers collagen production that tightens and smooths facial skin. To acquire PRP, your medical professional will take a small sample of your blood, then extract the plasma and platelets. The sample is then concentrated, creating the platelet-rich plasma.

  • What are the Benefits of a Vampire Facial?

The vampire facials we perform at Regenix cosmetic come with several benefits. These plasma facials are known to make patients’ skin look younger by tightening wrinkles and eliminating fine lines. Vampire facials improve the overall texture of the skin as well, while also minimizing acne scars. After a professional vampire facial from Regenix cosmetic , you’ll feel confident in your skin.

  • What Happens During the Facial?

First, we use a numbing cream on the patient’s face. Then, we draw blood from the patient’s arm and run it through a centrifuge to create PRP. Once the patient’s face is numb, we begin microneedling, which is a technique that creates trauma to the skin with several tiny needles.  After microneedling, PRP is applied to the surface of the face. The PRP absorbs into the tiny pinprick holes that the microneedling has created. Altogether, this process makes up the vampire facial and stimulates collagen growth that will have you looking years younger.

  • Does the PRP Procedure Hurt?

Good news— the PRP procedure is virtually painless. Most patients report only feeling an initial needle pinch. Sometimes patients may experience mild pain after the numbing cream has been applied, but the tenderness is usually confined to more sensitive areas like the mouth. It’s important to remember that pain tolerance varies from person to person, and vampire facials may be more uncomfortable for some patients.

  • Do Vampire Facials Have Side Effects?

Vampire facials may come with side effects, but nothing too significant. Since the PRP treatment is made of the patient’s own blood, there’s little chance for an allergic reaction. Some patients report minor side effects like bruising, swelling, or itching. Usually, these symptoms go away on their own relatively quickly.

  • When Will I See Results?

After a vampire facial, you may start seeing results right away. In most cases, patients notice the most improvement up to three weeks after the PRP treatment. Others may wait up to six months to see the full results of the vampire facial. However, it’s important to remember that although these results can be long-lasting, they aren’t permanent. Many patients elect to schedule multiple treatments to achieve the best outcome.

  • Who is the Ideal Candidate for a Vampire Facial?

Almost anyone can be a candidate for a vampire facial. PRP facials are especially helpful for people with wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars. They are also effective for those with sun-damaged skin. Most people who are unhappy with imperfections on their facial skin can safely undergo the procedure. However, those with blood disorders or who need blood thinners should refrain from PRP treatment.

Profhilo

  • What is Profhilo

Profhilo is the first BDDE-free (no cross-linking / viscosity building), stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable substance which helps to treat skin laxity.

Profhilo offers one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market. HA is responsible for hydrated and youthful skin and is drastically depleted from the skin over time. The HA in Profhilo will boost and hydrate the skin as well as remodel the ageing and sagging tissue which occurs during the natural ageing process.

Profhilo is not a dermal filler or bio-revitaliser, it is a bio-remodelling product, which is a new category in injectable moisturiser. Profhilo forms 2 types of HA, HA and LHA. This combination of powerful HA components produces a longer-lasting product as well as intensive skin laxity remodelling.

  • How is Profhilo administered?

Profhilo works in a course of 2 treatments, 4 weeks apart. On the face, only 5 injection points are necessary on each side of the face to give maximum results.

Profhilo acts as a hydrator rather than a filler. It is injected just under the surface of the skin, where it disperses quickly (due to the lack of BDDE cross-linking agent) and reacts with your own tissues to instantly boost hydration. Over the following 4 weeks, phase 2 will boost collagen and elastin production within the dermis. This helps to give the skin a youthful, plump, smooth and firm appearance.

Profhilo can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other dermal fillers or Botox as part of a holistic approach to skin remodelling and revitalisation.

  • Am I suitable for Profhilo?

We use Profhilo to create an airbrushed skin effect on patients of all ages. It is especially popular with patients over the age of 30.

If you are not happy with your skin laxity, have crêpey or thin skin as well as other visible signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, you could be suitable for Profhilo. However, before any treatment here at Regenix cosmetic clinic, a no obligation consultation will be needed in order to check your medical history, examine your individual concerns and discuss potential results.

  • Does Profhilo hurt?

What is Profhilo like to have done? As Profhilo is injected just under the skin using very fine needles in pre-determined points, it is relatively painless; you may feel a short sting or scratch, but this is short-lived. Patients can opt for topical anaesthetic before a Profhilo treatment.

  • Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime with Profhilo. However, it’s advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment. Vitamin C and Vitamin E can also increase the likelihood of bruising, but it is fine to use 48 hours after.

Immediately afterwards, it’s important to avoid wearing make-up and strenuous exercise such as going to the gym, swimming or extreme sports and hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.

  • Can I go in the sun after Profhilo?

You will need to avoid excessive sunlight for 48 hours after Profhilo and wear a high SPF sunscreen.

It’s important to know that if you expose your skin to the sun, this will only have a detrimental effect on your skin quality and hydration. Investing in good habits such as wearing SPF and a wide-brimmed hat when going into extreme sunlight, as well as having regular treatments such as Profhilo will help your skin hugely, in the long-run.

  • Are there any risks or side-effects?

There are no long-term side-effects with Profhilo as it is metabolised by the body completely. The risk of any allergic reaction is substantially reduced due to the lack of any synthetic chemicals such as BDDE.

Some people can experience some redness, slight bruising, tenderness and possible itching at the injection sites, but these will subside in a few hours to a day and is totally natural.

  • How long do results from Profhilo last?

Results from Profhilo can last anything from 6 to 12 months, depending on your individual reaction and metabolism of the product.
